Hello

I'm thinking of upgrading my video card from a radeon HD7770 to a R9 270x. I know that a R9 280x has a better price/performance but I will have to buy a new case and PSU for that so it will cost to much.

So will my current setup be able to support the MSI R9 270x gaming 2G? Or a better one?

My setup:

Antec Sonata III 500w
Asus p8h77m
Intel I5 3570
Sapphire radeon hd 7770 oc Ghz edition
8GB ram

Thanks in advance

A Radeon R9-270X needs at least 24 amps on the 12v rail and a 500 watt power supply.

The wattage isn't the key the amps on the 12v rail are.

Here's one.

That is a good PSU , and will power your specs with the 270x.

Hi Laribald

I was wondering if you could fit your Radeon R9 270x in your Antec Sonata III? Which brand did you choose to fit it in?

Thanks
