Hey guys, still working on piecing together my first build.
My main goal is to use it for gaming.
So far I have:

AMD FX 6300 CPU
Asus M5A97 r2.0 Mobo
G.skill ripjaws 8gb (2x4gb)
Corsair 600w PSU
Asus optical drive
SSD and HDD
Apevia X-dream midtower atx case

This is a budget build, but I'm trying not to skimp on the things that I can use for future builds.
I need some suggestions for a good graphics card that will keep up with current games while also being under or close to the price range $150

Also, unrelated to this question, is my motherboard good enough for this build? The reviews on newegg seemed mixed, but I saw a lot of recommendations from users here with the FX6300 and budget builds.

Thanks

I know your on a set budget but $150 is not enough to get a decent video card for today's game and into the future. Is there any way to restructure your budget and allow at least $250 for a card? If you shop around you might find a GTX760 or you could save about $50 and go with a GTX660. Your PSU will handle either one and both are decent cards with the 760 obviously being better. Can't comment on the motherboard as I just built my first computer for my son, used a ASRock intel board.

The motherboard is more than good enough, Owning one I could not be happier unless I had a Crosshair V formula level board :D .

Graphics card wise would be something like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... /650ti/7790

Thanks for the replys.

The 7790 looks good. Will the 1GB hinder game play or does it matter all that much?

Whats the difference between the radeon HD 7 series and the r7?

The R7s are the newer "replacement" models of the Radeon 7xxx series. The 1GB will start to cause issues but not many, but for the price its pretty good.
