2 computers together

Yes i was wondering if it is at all possible to link two different pc's together not to use as one processor but just so i can have them linked using there own ram and cpus indavidually but running on the same network without ethernet cords being hooked up to each other!?
Any help would be great!

Yes there is a way. you can use wireless adapters to connect to the network if your router has wireless. you will be able to share info between the 2 PC's

Ethernet cable, WiFi, or powerline.
Talking to a common router.

You could do it with a crossover cable, but a common router is much, much easier.

Perhaps I am reading the question in a different manner than you two, but I believe he is attempting to create a wireless network simply between two computers without the use of a router. Gotu, what exactly are you attempting to do in the long run? Or rather, why are you attempting to connect the two computers?

im trying to link the two computers to be able to use em as LCARS from Star Trek with multiple monitors..since i have the max monitors per graphics cards on one computer i would like to use a second computer in junction with the main computer to be able to simulate the bridge of a starship type layout!

You could use something like Input Director, but that is just controlling two different PCs, through the LAN, from one mouse/kbd.

the screens on the back is something like i want but using monitors and 2 or more computers...anyway to link em up or could i get away with multiple computers using there own systems? i would like to be able to control all systems from one central computer if at all possible!

Could you do it? Sure. Several thousand $$ and a couple years of investigation, software development, and building.
