2 computers together

Yes i was wondering if it is at all possible to link two different pc's together not to use as one processor but just so i can have them linked using there own ram and cpus indavidually but running on the same network without ethernet cords being hooked up to each other!?
Any help would be great!

Perhaps I am reading the question in a different manner than you two, but I believe he is attempting to create a wireless network simply between two computers without the use of a router. Gotu, what exactly are you attempting to do in the long run? Or rather, why are you attempting to connect the two computers?

im trying to link the two computers to be able to use em as LCARS from Star Trek with multiple monitors..since i have the max monitors per graphics cards on one computer i would like to use a second computer in junction with the main computer to be able to simulate the bridge of a starship type layout!

Could you do it? Sure. Several thousand $$ and a couple years of investigation, software development, and building.
