I'm setting up a litecoin rig, and this is my first time putting together a computer.

Motherboard: ASRock 970
CPU: AMD Sempron 145
Memory: 4GB G.SKILL DDR3 SDRAM (2 x 2GB)
PSU: 1250w Seasonic
GPU: Sapphire Radeon VAPOR-X R9 280X 3GB GDDR5
Mouse/Keyboard: USB

So I've got everything plugged in, and when I hit the power button, the machine powers on fine and goes straight to BIOS.

HOWEVER, when I plug in either an empty SanDisk 8GB and/or another regular 8GB USB Flash drive with "xubuntu-12.10-desktop-amd64" on it, the screen will say "Reboot and select proper boot device"

My USB Mouse and Keyboard are working fine, it's just that when I plug in my USB Flash drives that it doesn't work. Help?

Is it the FLash drives? The Sundisk 8GB is BRAND NEW, and my other flash drive works fine on other laptops...

I've invested a lot of money and would mean A LOT to me if I could get this running, many thanks...

Off topic: 1250Watt PSU? Lmao....

On topic: This is probably because your motherboard has USB Drive as a higher priority boot setting. So if you have a USB drive plugged in, it will boot to that instead of your HDD, and your flash drive doesn't have an OS installed to it, so it gives you the "Reboot and select proper boot device"

If this is your first time building a computer, you should always go to BIOS and Load Optimized Defaults, so you can avoid any problems from there.
