Will this rig play Ultra 1080P for the next couple of years?

Hi guys, first time posting here in need of your advice!

I submitted a post on another website asking the users to suggest a build (that is around the $1600 Mark) that will run games at 1080p on ultra. i was given the following specs:

Intel Core i5-4440 3.1GHz Quad-Core Processor
ASRock H81M-HDS Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
Avexir Core series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Asus GeForce GTX 780 Ti 3GB Video Card
BitFenix Prodigy M Midnight MicroATX Mini Tower Case
Antec High Current Gamer 520W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply

After some convincing and a bit of research i went ahead and brought all of these components and am now awaiting delivery.

I am now having doubts and getting a bit worried.

Are this specs good enough to full-fill my needs? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks so much.

I agree that the 780TI is a powerful card and it is currently the best choice for future proofing, I think 4-5 years of Ultra is stretching it a bit. We dont know what new techniques are coming out, it could be the card does not support a command set that is necessary to play in ultra next year.

Its impossible to say how long it will last, but of all currently available cards, that will last the longest.

If you can take the I5 up to the 4670k and buy a Z87 chipset motherboard the cpu will have a longer life.

That's why I said "maybe even" :p But yeah, your CPU might need a little upgrading. If you are going with the 4670k, the G1.Sniper motherboard from Gigabyte is your best gaming option and its not that expensive, too.

First of all thank you for your replies :) I asked this on reddit and they advised the i5 4440 is enough. I have now bought all of the components and they are on their way :( Is my cpu going to be a major issue when it comes to ultra? If i can get away with 1080p ultra with this CPU and motherboard for the next 2 years, ill be happy to replace the cpu and chipset after 2 years.

For 2 years? Yeah, totally. Its not bad of a CPU, but change as soon as you can.

Thats not a bad CPU. Just not as future proof as the 4670k. As of now, you will not br dragged back and will have no problems at 1080p. Its just the future proofing thing. If you cant return back the parts, its ok. But. you have to get 600W PSU. That 520W is simply not enough because it may not be providing enough amperage.

The CPU will be good for a while, my origional I5 lasted until last year when BF4 finally made it struggle. That I5 was ~4 years old IIRC, so you should be good for at least 2!

As to the PSU, it would definatly be worth the upgrade if you can return it.

I will do what i can to try and return it. Im just so confused, everyone on Reddit told me my system will hardly pull 450W so i should be ok since the PSU is 520W constant, which reassured me and made me buy it..

Rookie mistake. This is not what efficiency mean. 520W psu will supply 520W.

Yes this time the math is correct.

Can you recommend me PSU that i should buy?

I was thinking of the Silverstone Strider Plus 750W ST75F-P.

650W will be enough. Here-http://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-power-supply-120pg0650gr
A great, not costly, full modular psu.

please correct me if im incorrect, however that PSU only has 25A @ 12V1,2,3

what does this mean?

Add all of them, subtract the amps used by the rest of the components on 12v remaining will be the amps for GPU.
Suppose rest of system uses 15A,
Combined amperage available=+12V1@20A, +12V2@20A, +12V3@20A, +12V4@20A 20+20+20+20=80
Therefore, amp available for card=80-20=60 amp

They are added up because 8 pin connector have 4 connections. A single connection providing amps like 40 or 50 at 12V will burn itself due to too much power being drawn. (Too much friction between electrons-reason for wires to heat up).

Plus, there are people on pcp who are happily using 780(Same requirement as the 780ti) with this psu without problems so consider them as testimonials.
