Hi, I'm going to be quick and to the point here. I have a fx 4300, 4gb of ram, and a cx 430, and a micro atx case. I need a new gpu to upgrade from my gt 630. I was looking at the 7770 direct cu 2 2gb and the 7790 direct cu2 1gb. Also, the r7 260x 2gb xfx is also a choice. SUprisingly, the radeon 7790 is the cheapest, but is sold form a 3rd party seller used on amazon. I need some good suggestions for a good budget card. Thanks.

I'll let the charts talk for me:

note you're looking at the regular 650 ti not the 650 ti boost.

260x 3fps higher(not much)

BF3 ultra 1080p the 650 ti has a 1.4 average fps advantage

Basically there's not much in it but I'd go for the 260x as BF4 benefits from AMD's mantle API which makes the 260x perform better in battlefield 4 as well(about 5-8fps better)

I'm 13, and I buy via gift cards from amazon, and for one reason or another, my dad only likes using amazon. So, yeah... Any other suggestions, just in case it runs out of stock? Will 1gb vram be enough for 1680x1050 gaming?

with cards such as the 7770,7790,260x you will notice 1gb vs 2gb.

1GB is fine for 1680x1050.

If you WANT 2gb this is the cheapest 2gb available: http://www.amazon.com/XFX-RADEON-1075MHz-Graphics-R7260XCNF4/dp/B00FUR6FJ8/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1392626843&sr=8-3&keywords=r7+260x+2gb $141 (may be worth paying for if you want to)

there isn't a $130 dollars alternative to the xfx model as the $127.22 gigabyte comes with $9 shipping making it more like $136.

Either get the 1GB XFX for $130 or the 2GB XFX for $140.

Also don't assume because it's lower price it's lower quality, I had an XFX 6770 and it was perfect.

Okay, thanks so much. I will proably go for this or the 7770 2gb direct cu2. They all seem like very promising cards. To save a few bucks I might go for 1gb r7 260x. Thanks again! Would these play games like skyrim, bf3 and 4, cod ghots, and other demanding titles at 1680x1050 at medium to high settings, well? Thanks.

Why are you going for the 2gb 7770? It performs worse than the 1GB 260X.

Do not buy a 7770, they have gone up in price due to them not being manufactured anymore.

Here's a little hierarchy of cards in your price range(AMD only)

r7 260x
7790
7770
r7 250

Here's a chart in BF3

Radeon-R9-280X-Battlefield3-Benchmark-Medium.jpg

It's 1080p Medium the test benchmark for this so the 260x can probably get 60+ FPS at 1680x1050 high

Notice how the 260x is 84.6 fps and the 7770 is 57fps , the 260x performs nearly as well as the HD 7850. 2 models higher than the 7770.

By the way, since you want to play battlefield 4 i'd stump up for the 2gb version. $11 isn't much really and it can't hurt to have more VRAM especially when BF4 can be demanding on it.
