I recommend Redo! Backup and Restore for this: www.redobackup.org
Any backup program worth it's salt will do this for you. Redo! is an imaging suite in that it makes a bit for bit backup of your drive (complete snapshot) and saves it into an .ISO file that can be accessed later or restored as a full backup. Think of it as a System Restore that actually works.
