Hi There,

I have the following laptop as above. It first started when I played WoW (almost as if it was too powerful as the laptop got a bit hot and crashed) all of a sudden no Audio.

I have tried disabling and enabling the graphics cards, Uninstaling - reinstalling, (it shows two- geforce Gt540m and a Intel Hd Audio) I tried to reboot back to factory settings to get this to work but I didnt have the mirror image. So I put windows 7 ISO onto a USB and tried this way.

Still no sound...

Had to download the drivers again from main computer and put on with USB. Once I had internet connectin with the laptop I updated all the drivers. No joy.
It will either say ''no audio output device is connected'' or ''no headphones or speakers.''

I wasted literally my whole day with this yesterday and ended up getting nowhere.

Thanks

Liam

Please check if the playback device is disabled. To do this, follow the steps below:

1. Please go to Start -> Control Panel -> Sound.

2. On the Playback tab, right click on the blank place and then click "Show Disabled Devices".

3. Check if your playback device is disabled. If so, right click on it and click Enable.

Reinstall the audio device

OR

1. Go to Start, type Device Manager, click on Device Manager to open it.

2. Expand "Sound, video and game controllers".

3. Right click on your audio device and then click Uninstall.

4. Check "Delete the driver software for this device".

5. Click OK.

6. After that, restart the computer the device and driver shall be reinstalled automatically.

If still nothing happen
I'd suggest you installing the audio driver in Compatibility mode. Remove and rescan that hardware device in Device Manager, right-click on the driver executable/installer file -> Properties and select the Compatibility tab; click the checkbox before Run this program in Compatibility mode for option and select Windows XP in the list-down box; then try installing the device driver.
