Difference between R9 270 and GTX 760 - negligible for casual gamer?

Hi,

I've not upgraded my computer in years. I'm ordering parts now.

I had one of those "Oh, I'll push it a little further" moments earlier, cancelling my R9 270 order to request a GTX 760 Super-clocked.. both 2GB cards, but the latter being some £50 more expensive.

I'm experience regret pangs of perhaps spending too much money (Does anyone relate when it comes to upgrading PCs?), what with a trip to the country next month, starting driving lessons, and maintaining a home, and I'm thinking to myself, "Can I really justify it?"

My current card is a NVIDEA Georce 9600 GT, 512MB card.. I'm a casual gamer.. considering what I'm using now, please enlighten me to how much of a difference I'll really notice between the R9 270 and GTX 760 on games such as Skyrim, ES: Online when it comes out, and perhaps later in time games running on Unreal 4 Engine..?

Is it one of those situations when I'm going from a "3/10 card" and agonising over whether the "10/10" is worth it over the "9/10" - aka negligible difference?

Thanks,
Jack

I would call and change the order again it is not worth the money in my opinion. I just purchased two r 270s and was having regrets about not getting the 270x but the 270s were like 50 euro less. So anyway the cards arrived and I put them in and must say I was pleasantly surprised at stock clock full load the cards only got up to around 55 degrees max. Where I was pleasantly surprised was I was able to overclock the cards up to 1100 and 1550 and they were only hitting 65 to 70 under full load gaming overclocked they were staying at 60. Here were the cards I got and they were only like 150 euro or 120 pounds
