Hello,
I've MSI R7770 PMD1GD5 and my system specs is quite old
CPU Pentium 4 ht 531
Mobo ECS 662/1066T-M2 V1.0
RAM 1GB DDR2 ram
GPU MSI R7770 PMD1GD5
PSU Corsair CX430
and my monitor only has a VGA cable so I'm using a dvi/vga adapter. so when I connect the GPU , a "no signal" message appears on my monitor even If I connect the cable to the on-board GPU nothing appears but it only works when I remove the GPU.
so I used my friend's PC to test the GPU , I used my GPU and my PSU and he has a Pentium dual core CPU, a 2GB of DDR3 ram and his mobo is Gigabyte GA-G41MT-ES2L
and I used it on my monitor. my GPU did work I don't know why this problem happens to my PC so please guys help me and sorry for my bad English.

I can't see any option in the bios that controls the on-board gpu. but I'll see if I can find an update for the bios

OK, I'll also try to disable the on-board graphics card through the device manager.

Yes I'm sure, and I cleared the cmos by removing the battery but nothing happened. idk why the ram doesn't work when I install the gpu and why it did work on my friend's pc

well i cant say for sure. the think i know for sure is that (if you are planning on gaming) you shouldnt spend (more) money on that system cause it doesnt worth it. the thing is, pentium 4 is too weak and you will have massive botleneck and you wont be able to utilize the gpu properly. also with 1gb you cant have windows 7. if except the mobo you think ram is also failing on you, try it on your friends system to make sure. anyway, i wouldnt spend more than 20-30$ . any luck with the bios update?

I know this PC sucks but it isn't my primary one, and the PC that my graphics card worked with is using ddr3 ram. I couldn't find any new bios update, the latest one was released in 2007/09/12. btw I'm getting to many errors like 0xc000007b do you think my ram is causing it?
