Okay so I just recently built this rig, I was able to run any game and I did without no problem, battlefield 4, assassins creed 4, stupidly for like 2months I ran my rig without after burner, and the fan its self has no automatic fan spin function, and always runs on 20% consistent, so recently my games would literally freeze then crash, like I'd literally get into the game play about 5 seconds, the graphics would freeze then screen would go black while I'd continue to hear the game sounds in normal manner (not loop) because when the character conversations took place in game it was nice and long no repeats, I had to then press "alt+ctrl+delete" to load task manager, even then in task manager it said "running" so it wasn't crashed, but now that I have afterburner seems to load games fine, should I get a replacement? or is more likely damaged? or because it shut down during games that means it prevented damage?, my GPU would get up to 93-94 without even playing games.

The gpu has a thermal limit that will slow down the GPU to prevent damage, so that was what you were experiencing. The GPU is fine, and you should no longer see any issues while using afterburner.

Try Tweaking the Fan speed from AMD Overdrive to 100% and If the Fan increases it's Speed then You are good to go otherwise Get a Replacement .
