Hello,

I have a HP ProBook 4320s and was looking to buy a Dell U2412m for an external monitor.

My laptop has only HDMI output and the Dell U2412m monitor has only DVI input.
I have a HDMI to DVI adapter which I'm currently using on another low end monitor but I was wondering if I would be able to get the full 1920x1200 resolution over HDMI as my laptop specs are saying that I can only get 1920x1080 via HDMI (http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/13568_na/13568_na.PDF).

Quote: "HDMI port supports direct connection to high-definition displays with up to
1920 x 1080 resolution and 7-channel audio with one convenient cable (not
included)."

However on my graphic card specs (ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5400 series: http://www.amd.com/uk/products/notebook/graphics/mobility-radeon-5000/mobility-radeon-5400/Pages/mobility-radeon-5400.aspx#2) it says:
Integrated HDMI® output with Deep Color, xvYCC wide gamut support, and high bit-rate audio
Max resolution: 1920x1200

Has anyone managed to get the full 1200p resolution over HDMI from laptop to DVI on a similar monitor?

Regards,
Igor
