Hello, I wanted to ask what kind of voltage and FSB i should set in the bios because i don't want to cook my q9300 with stock cooler what kind of temps would be good? (the cpu is new not used) because my E8500 was in 39C idle Then jumped to 50 So i turn off all games and checked again so back to the Q9300 what would you recommend?

Solution
The Core 2 Quad microprocessors are in fact two Core 2 Duo microprocessors glued together in the same package (with solder and a multi-chip-module, not actual glue). Ergo, the power draw of a Core 2 Quad is exactly twice that of the Core 2 constituents from which it is assembled.

With that said, overclocking a Core 2 Quad CPU with only a stock cooler is probably not the brightest thing to do. If you're dead set on OCing it, the fastest thing to do would be to increase the FSB from 333Mhz to 400Mhz, and change the DRAM ratio so that the DRAM clock remains fixed, there should be an appropriate divider for this.
