Hey!

It's my first new build. But as far as I can tell it is installed correctly. I had an experienced builder hep me install the card initially. I've been over the manual a bunch of times, trawled the internet, checked and doubled checked everything.

Monitor worked fine when plugged into the mother board through dvi. When plugged into the graphics card the monitor goes straight into power save and that's as far as i've got with it.

Any help would be massively appreciated!

Thanks! Rachel.

Hmmm! I run dual Dell U2312HM monitors.
One using dvi and the other on dp.
Have you tried the monitor menu /input source/and change that to dvi from auto?
If using windows 7 this could also be a power options setting.

Have you tried removing the monitor power cord for a while then plugging it back in.
Then restarting the whole system?
Also it may be helpful to disable onboard graphics in device manager.
As a matter of fact I recall my monitor/s being goofy like this too.

Yeah, I already had onboard graphics disabled.

I just tried unplugging the power and plugging it back in. Still not working. Will try a few reps of this.

Truthfully, it did this to me when I initially plugged it into the mother board as well, but it miraculously started working for no apparent reason. I feel a bit better knowing that other people have probably had issues with the monitor. Was panicking that my graphics card may be buggered (i hope not).

Sounds like you've tried everything i'll probably suggest.
I did experience issues with display cables.
In my case I bought a different brand of dp cable and my problems went away.
However I am using the stock dvi cable supplied from dell with one of the monitors.
I do recall having to double check cable connections at the monitor for both cable types.
For some reason they didn't seat(connect) as securely as one would think they should.
I bet you've already tried the second dvi output on your card too!

Yeah tried both. Gah! So frustrating. My dvi cable (the stock that came from Dell) works fine hooked up to the onboard graphics so it must be hooked to the monitor securely.

I haven't tried using the dp cable. Might give that one a go.

Scratch that. It hasn't got the right connectors. That's not going to work.

Correct, the Display Port cables are aftermarket.

Do you reckon it's worth buying a dp to dvi cable and trying that? I have never used a dp cable before so not entirely sure what connectors i need. I assume dp to dvi.
