Fan keeps running and computer is frozen

When we start to use our computer in the morning our computer fan keeps running. The only way to start using the computer is to turn it off and start again. This only happens when the computer has been idle for 3-4 hours. Do you know why? The computer is about 6 years old. Thanks

Motherboard or power supply issue. Take a look at the motherboard, if it has puffy or outright cracked top capacitors, you'd want to look for a replacement motherboard or a new computer.
