Belkin DD-WRT router behind Alcatel y800 4g router

Anyone know what settings I must have on each router to make this work? I currently take a wireless broadband signal and make a wired connection through a TP link extender to the Belkin WAN port with DCHP enabled. This works fine but the BB speed is pretty ropey. I can get a mobile 4g Internet signal through an Alcatel but when I connect the Belkin in the same way as above the Internet connection fails. Any ideas?

Can you plug a PC into the back of the tplink with a ethernet cable and get it to work. You need the tp-link device to run in client-bridge mode. If you are using any of the repeater modes it will attempt to use WDS. The alcatel may not support WDS or you may need to put a special config into the alcatel router. It technically is a security violation since you are running multiple mac addresses behind what is suppose to be a single connection. WDS gets around this restriction.

Now a wireless bridge that only uses a single mac will work on all routers.

Thanks. The Alcatel does support WDS and the tp link repeats the signal perfectly. It all falls down as soon as I plug in the Belkin to the tplink.

I assume you can plug a pc in and it is fine. I can't see how the tplink would know the belkin router was even there it should look exactly like a PC when running in router mode. Maybe the wireless signal on the belkin is causing a issue you could disable that to start I suppose.
