My 3TB external hard disk keeps reconnecting

My hard disk keeps disconnecting and connecting by itslef for no reason
It does that on my computer only and it's frustrating!!
I tried connecting it to a 2.0 usb port but still the same problem

if the external HDD is a portable one (ie it's powered solely from USB socket, not mains electricity) buy a "mains-powered USB hub", plug that into an electrical mains socket and into a USB port on your PC, then plug your external HDD into the hub.
