Sorry if I sound nooby when I ask this, for I do not know quite too much about these things, and I just entered this community. I have tried to update my drivers for my Asus MH-71's GTX 760m graphics card. The thing is... when I do, I get "This graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware". Anyone have a clue what I need to do?

Actually,it's because the driver isn't made for your card. Which is the driver you downloaded? Are you sure it's for the 700m series GPUs? Make sure you're downloading the correct driver for your card. It should be this way...
Geforce 700M -----> GTX 760M
Make sure it's not the 700 series driver you've got. It is not the 700 that you need,it is the 700M driver.

I wouldn't suggest using drivers from Asus for the GPU, since they don't update drivers frequently. I don't see what's the problem with using drivers from Nvidia. It's something else that's causing the trouble if I'm to state my opinion. Anyway, it's your call.

I don't know about all these...IMO, downloading the drivers from Nvidia seems to be the best choice....Why,it even has the latest 334.89 WHQL drivers. Anyway, if you think it will cause you troubles, you can do whatever you think is the best.
If drivers from Nvidia are faulty, then I wonder why they release those drivers, precisely for Mobile GPUs....This is embarrassing...!

I agree 100%. I don't know why some laptops need specialized GPU drivers... Kinda sad. Then whats the point of these updates on the nvidia website?

This is not uncommon thing that laptop manufacturer drivers are required for mobile GPU, specially for switchable (hybrid) graphics solution. And yes you are on laptop manufacturer mercy for updated driver. Sony used to be the worst when comes to driver updates.
