first time buying a grapics card

Im trying to buy a grapics card for the first time and some people are telling me I need to buy a $400 card while others say cards around 200 are fine, and I have also seen good reviews for the FX Radeon HD 7850 1GB core Edition
I want to play mainly mmos using this card but I have also been thinking about playing the game battle field 3
So I want to know about how much is a good price to spend on the card for my needs and also is this card a good card to get?

First thing is, what is your budget? and at what resolution are you thinking of playing at?

I want to build a whole computer for around 700 or 800, so looking at round 200.

If you like nVidia, the GTX 750 Ti is expected to launch, Feb 18 and since the GTX 760 2GB version sells for $259, I would expect the GTX 750 Ti to be very close to $200.
