EVGA Nvidia GTX 660 Constantly "Stops Responding and Recovers"

Hi, my Nvidia GTX 660 keeps getting the error "Video Driver has stopped responding and has recovered." I use this card for gaming (Dota 2, APB: Reloaded, Minecraft, and Mass Effect) and before everything goes black and "recovers" I generally get a frozen screen of whatever I was looking at, with little bright red pixels all over the screen for about a second. After this, it reverts back to my desktop and gives me the aforementioned error. Certain games will recover and others I will have to restart.

I'll list a few different solutions I've seen on similar issues. I've seen and tried:
  • ■ Updating my drivers (everything from 314.22 to current.)
    ■ Changing my voltage through EVGA Precision X (default 950, I've stepped it UP from that to 1150 incrementally.) NOTE: That did solve the problem for about two days.
    ■ Closing everything unnecessary prior to running my games (no luck)
    ■ Adjusting my clock speed by stepping it up and down. NOTE: This causes the largest issue of all. After adjusting my clock speed by any amount in either direction, my computer will inevitably become frozen and inoperable. The only time this remedies itself is upon starting in Safe Mode and undoing this. This has been a problem both with my current EVGA GTX 660 and my previous AMD Radeon HD 4850.

I would very much appreciate a working solution to this, as I'm pretty freakin' sick of dealing with this.

Thank you very much,
A. Braly, a.k.a. Pathular

EDIT: It's also worth mentioning that the error will occasionally repeat itself three or four times in rapid succession.

Well, the GPU-clock-throttling-freeze issue was a problem on my previous card. I've never had the "stopped responding" issue before.
