my pc does not turn on unless the CMOS cap is on clear but not when its on default. i replaced the CMOS battery with no luck. ive came to a realization that i need a new mobo. but if thats the case does that mean that my cpu ram are ruined?
The CPU/RAM are probably OK. But by starting your PC with the jumper in the 'clear cmos' position, you are effectively grounding out the BIOS chip. Therefore, It may be damaged by now anyway.
