So i have an old Inspiron 530 and a bought a few parts to make it run as a light gaming machine. One of the parts i bought was a EVGA GT 640. When i bought this i didn't realize that it asked for at least a 350 watt psu. The Inspiron 530 only has a 300 watt supply.
I am planning a new system, but dont have the funds for it. Im hoping i can use the psu that i buy for the 530 in the next build.
In the next build i need a 500 watt supply and an 8 (or 6+2) and a 6 pin pcie connector for the graphics card.
With all that in mind, does the current 530 have enough juice to power the 640, if not, is there a psu that would fit inside the 530 and meet the requirements for the next build?
Thanks in advanced
