I connected it to the power supply and motherboard, and my system is detecting it, but now how do I use it? I want to move all my stuff from current hard drive to SSD.

Solution
Get your external harddrive out, run Windows Easy Transfer, backup your personal files.
Now get your Windows / System Restore DVD out and put to the side.
Download and make a CD for DBAN, to wipe your current drive clean (and in the process reset it from being the 'boot' drive to just being a 'drive').
Reinstall Windows to your SSD.
Run all Windows patches and options (except bing), repeat till all are done.
go to www.filehippo.com download and install Avast or AVG
download and run SLIM Drivers to ensure you have absolutely the latest drivers

Now the tricky part that requires you CONSTANTLY manage your PC every day going forward.

Start to reinstall ALL your software (Games, Office, etc.) BUT DO NOT *CLICK*THROUGH* the prompts. You HAVE TO take your time, and actually select the INSTALL PATH be set to the D: drive (the second larger drive). Everytime you INSTALL or make any updates you MUST do this to ensure you don't "fill up" your much smaller SSD accidentally.

Run Windows Easy Transfers to reinstall all your data and how your PC 'felt' like.

Depending on whom makes the SSD (Samsung?) you may have a nice Wizard like the SamSung Magician, or else look up on Google SSD Tips and Tricks. There is a myriad of settings that need to be done to optimize the SSD and make sure your not going to accidentally fill up the drive unnecessarily.

Ok so I thought that just doing a clean install on the new SSD would be a lot simpler, but I did it and realized I am now running 2 copies of windows using the same key. Will DBAN remove the copy of windows on my old hard drive so that I can use the same key?
