Hi There , I´m having a little trouble trying to overclock my AMD CPU and I´d like some help...
So, I go to the BIOS and I try to change my multiplier to around 45 and i increase my voltage to 1.65 V but when I try to boot it says there is an error and that the boot has failed and it reesets my BIOS settings to default....

Help would be Appreciated...

Specifications:
CPU : AMD A10 5800K
GPU: AMD Radeon HD 7660D + 6670 Dual Graphics
RAM: Corsair Vengeange (2x4GB) 1333Mhz
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-F2A85X-UP4
Power Supply: Coolermaster GX 650W
CPU Cooler: Coolermaster Hyper 612S

P.S: Sorry For My Bad English, It´s Not My Native Language.

Solution
1.65 volts is far too much. Although I think 1.55 is the maximum, I would try to keep it below 1.5 volts.

I would reset to default settings, and manually set your voltage to stock. From there, I would try incrementally raising your multiplier, running a stability test after each raise. Once you hit some instability, it's time to add a a bit more voltage.

Always be sure to track your temperatures as well.

Didn´t work i tried to boot it just froze then I tried to go to the BIOS and it froze there too , if it wasn´t for Dual BIOS it would be doomed... but thanks although...

I´m a newbie to computers having only 14 years of age and i appreciate all your answers in so little time i don´t know much about stability tests now although i have prime95...
Does excessive voltage cause freezing computers in the motherboard screen???

P.S : The stock voltage is 1.45V

P.S.S : The temperatures are bad when it crosses over what?

Excessive voltages can fry your CPU and parts of your motherboard. Heat can do the same thing.

The maximum listed heat for the A10-5800K is 74C on the CPU Core Temperature. (There is also a CPU Socket temperature, just to muddle things - those are for idle CPU temperatures.)

Hey Calculatron thanks a lot it worked thanks !!! But the PC took a bit more to load than it was ... is that normal right after overclocking ?

P.S: I didn´t change the voltage , just increased my multiplier to 42 to start , i´ll try more settings later...

Thanks:bounce:
