I am considering purchasing a 4k monitor, specifically this one: Dell UltraSharp UP2414Q Black 23.8" http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA0ZX1AU6122.
This will be used exclusively for gaming, ie BF4 and Star Citizen.
I looked up the manual on dell website and its says that this monitor on gives a 30mhz refresh rate through HDMI and 60mhz refresh through dp 1.2 only.
I have 2 gtx 680's in sli and I know I currently have them connected to my monitor through a DVI input? I'm guessing the other slots on my 680's are HDMI and aslo dp 1.2? Is this correct and what cable would I use to connect the 4k monitor to the 680? Is it a dp 1.2 cable??
Please help, If I cannot get a 60 mhz refresh rate then I have no interest in the monitor.

Solution
just a small point, it's 60Hz, not 60mhz, meaning it refreshed 60 times per second.

If you Google the make and model of your GTX680 (sorry you didn't mention what it was so I can't do it for you), it will clearly tell you if it has display port and what version.

And yes, if the monitor says it needs a display port 1.2 cable to display 4k at 60Hz, then you'll need a display port 1.2 cable.
