What are the advantages/disadvantages of ATI/NVIDIA?

I am looking for a new graphics card for around £200 ($340), and i want to know what the general advantages for a 3 monitor setup for both brands around this price point.

my current specs are as follows
AMD Phenom II x4 965 @ 3.6ghz Black Edition
8gb 1333mhz team elite ram
ASUS Nvidia GTX 550TI 1gb

It barely runs 3 monitors, all three at 1080x1920 (yes there in portrait)

and i am limited to a 800 watt power supply

No fanboyism please, i just want to know what would be better.

AMD
Pros: Cons:
Mantle Incredibly expensive recently
Some say "more colorful" Not supported by companies as well
Traditionally cheaper
Usually more VRAM w/ higher bandwidth

Cons:
Incredibly expensive recently
Not supported by companies as well
Not as good for rendering video

Nvidia:
Pros:
WiFi streaming
Physx
More supported by companies
Better for rendering video

Cons:
Traditionally more expensive

These are only some that I can think of. Each has their advantage and I personally prefer Nvidia. Hope I helped in some way.

And is it worth spending a bit more, and going SLI or Crossfire or just spending more and getting a better card?

Most people recommend spending more for a better card. In my opinion you should ask yourself if you are going to crossfire or sli is only one card enough because not all games support sli/crossfire. (Ex. If you sli two 760's, will one 760 be enough for the game if SLI is not supported)

A gtx 760 will be perfect for what you are playing. The price to performance ratio of the card is outstanding. Due to games such as ARMA, and DayZ being poorly optimized, you may not be able to max it out but you will still be able to turn the settings up. It will run minecraft and starcraft perfectly fine maxed out.

My EVGA SC GTX 760 2gb will max out DayZ at 30+ FPS usually 40+ when not in a city. But DayZ acts up when its OCed for some reason. But I do wish I got a higher end card like a 7970 or 770, might sell mine.
