Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo/ AMD FX-6300

I was wondering how high I would be able to overclock the FX-6300 if I used Hyper 212 Evo.

  1. Anybody?
  2. what do you mean by that ?
  3. this is abit late but i think hes asking at what speed can he OC his CPU at that is at a safe temp with that cooler
  4. Best answer
4.4GHz Super safe if case vented and ambient lower than 25'C , BUT BUT it highly depends on motherboard power delivery , and in some cases the psu could be weak or unstable to oc.
I think u could do even 4.5-4.6GHz just dont leave it oc-ed to 4.5GHz 24/7.
For OC, good temps , good Lifespan, stability , mild or even no VCORE overvolting and 24/7 it's best at 4.2GHz (LLC enabled and all power saving features disabled).

Lol I've waited months for this answer. I don't really need the info anymore, I went to the blue side, but thanks for actually posting good information.
  6. Since you chose another CPU this is not relevant for you, but someone else with the FX 6300 CPU could benefit from this information:

Using a Asus M5A99FX motherboard and Hyper 212 EVO cooler I have safely reached 4,5GHz and use that setting 24/7. Max temperature with prime 95 is 52C on the CPU, while regular use while gaming is more like 45C or even a bit less. I do admit that I might have gotten a bit lucky with my CPU, because I did not have to up the voltage a lot to reach this speed - the CPU VCORE is at 1,332 for me. If you need a higher VCORE to reach the same clock frequencies, your temperatures will be higher.

So the specifics will vary a bit depending on the exact chip, but around 4,3-4,5 GHz should not be a problem for the FX6300 + 212 EVO combo.

    Regards,
    Kaarel
