This USB stick is a plug and play broadband internet that I used in my laptop and desktop but recently I am having problem with my desktop. I have 6 USB ports and all are working with whatever device I am using. The usb stick is working perfectly find with my laptop.

The usb stick keeps disconnecting and reconnecting on all ports but when the message that says "This Device Can Perform Faster - Your USB Mass Storage Device can perform faster if plugged into a hi-speed port", the problem stops. All I have to do is to close the error and then the usb connects without any problem for 24 hours.

But the problem is, sometimes the error do not appear even if I unplug/replug the usb. This is very strange problem. I already checked the device manager and I can't find any problem. I even reformatted and reinstalled my whole windows 7 OS and still the same problem.

Please help. I already read a lot about this but this is a different problem.
Thanks

Check for drivers provided by the flash drive manufacturer's website. This might clear up the issue. If that doesn't do it, are you using the front USB ports? If so, you might want to open up the computer and make sure that the front ports are securely connected to the motherboard; try reseating them for safe measure. If that doesn't do it (and I recommend it regardless), make sure to install the latest BIO drivers for your motherboard along with any separate USB driver for your motherboard. If that doesn't fix it (especially since you reinstalled your OS), it might be the port itself.

Hi,
All of my PC ports are working perfectly with other devices. I think the problem is the compatibility of the flash drive witrh my PC as it has no problem when inserted to my laptop.

Thanks

I have had this problem, and tried various ways to get rid of it.

I've even reformatted my PC and did a fresh install of Windows 7. That seemed to have worked for a day UNTIL updates were installed automatically this morning and then the problem came back with full force. My usb devices are disconnecting and reconnecting every 10 to 20 seconds and it is very annoying!

Apart from the .NET framework updates, here's the list of updates that took place:

Update for Microsoft Windows (KB2533552)
Security update for Microsoft Windows (KB2943357)
Security update for Microsoft Windows (KB2584146)

I am assuming one of these is causing the issues.

I hope someone with more knowledge can shed some light on this!

This solution that I found worked perfectly for me:
When booting your PC, enter the BIOS setup and disable USB 3.0 support.
There will be no more USB 3.0, but at least USB devices will not disconnect anynore.
