Space is being taken up on Windows 7 NEED HELP

My hard drive is having more and more space taken up every now and then, and I have no idea what is causing it. I have thought that the issue has been caused by an error with the pagefiling on Windows 7, but I'm unknown as to how that works. Whatever the cause may be, I need help.

My system is a Toshiba Satellite laptop.
Specs:
Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1
CPU: Intel Core i3 2330M @ 2.20GHz
RAM: 6 GB
Motherboard: Intel Corp. Base Board Product Name (CPU1)
Hard Drive: 56GB OCZ-VERTEX2 (SSD)

Windows 7 says my 40gb ssd has only 56mb of space left. All help is appreciated. Thank you

Some things that will take up space include the hibernation file and system restore file(s). You might try deleting any old system restore points to free up some hard drive space. Another thing you can try is to run something like CCleaner (http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner) to free up space taken up by temporary Internet files.

This is over the course of an hour or less on my laptop. I'm not sure what's causing this issue. I've used windirstat and found that the largest of the files is coming from the winsxs folder. I deleted the backups in there after supplying myself with the proper privileges to do so. That removed around 550mb of space which is what causes the huge difference between the first picture and the second. Gradually, the space that I have now is being taken up and I'm still not sure by what.
