Mounted stock heat fan before build. Is this okay?

So I just bought my new ASRock Mobo and Intel i5 4670k processor and mounted the stock heat sink fan. I will not be able to complete my build for another 2 weeks atleast. So my question is, is t okay to mounth the cpu and heatsink fan early? I packaged it back up and put it in a safe cool place until I get the rest of my parts.
Also when looking over the fan i touched the thermal paste and smudged it slightly, hardly at all. Is that also okay?

I am going to use it. Just was wondering about it being on prior to finishing is all.

I would like to put a aftermarket CoolerMaster evo or something but MircoCenters salesman says it should be fine even with gaming as long as I dont overclock. Which I may want to do down the road but I just wanna get it running first.
