Okay so heres what i am working with,
Currently i have a gateway 21.5" LCD on the DVI-I on my GTX 770 for gaming.

I need another monitor for miscellaneous use. I need to be able to pick up the monitor so walmart or best buy needs to be the store.
I have a free DVI-D port on the card and i believe 2 free HDMI ports?

I am so confused with all the DVIs and VGAs, please help me pick a monitor that will work for my system!

Solution

yes, gtx 770 with 2gb will limit your performance with 2 monitors of 1080p resolution with high end modern games. So you need 4gb vram gtx 770 gpu because with 2 monitors setup the game will span across both monitors and extra monitor do add more pixels to be rendered in real time by the gpu. In simple terms: more pixel more VRAM needed for rendering purpose.
With IPS monitor, in simple words it will provide best viewing angles and produce the most accurate...

That monitor looks great.

I have a 2GB EVGA GTX 770, is this enough memory for gaming on 2 displays?
Should i be looking for a cheaper monitor for non-gaming use if i don't have enough memory?

You will be good with 2 monitors with gtx 770 with some of the modern games not all. Your gpu vram will be bottleneck for 2 monitors. If you don't really intend on using it for games but just for multipurpose like watching videos, web surfing and all other, then you are good with IPS panel monitor.

I'm a bit confused. When you say will be bottleneck for the 2 monitors, are you saying i should have got a card with more memory like 4GB? I'm not sure what IPS panel is either.
I've never used 2 monitors for gaming, but i wouldn't mind trying now if my system is able to.

With IPS monitor, in simple words it will provide best viewing angles and produce the most accurate colors but are not good for both response time and input lag and bit pricey. Here is one if you want to look: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus-21-5-ips-led-hd-monitor-black/4771365.p?id=1218524514865&skuId=4771365
and the one i told you before is TN monitor, they are more considered as gaming monitor for their fast response time and their low price. But they don't produce as accurate color as IPS monitors and they also have relatively low brightness.
