I would not buy a mid-range or better GPU today unless it had 2gig of memory. 1gig may get you by most of the time, but I would feel the extra money would be worth it in the long run.
The extra VRAM is going to be worth it in the long run. 1gb just isn't enough these days. Now whether its worth the extra 40 dollars is up to you, but 2gb of VRAM is surely not overkill.
Agree I do not think that 2gig is overkill. As to whether you would need it for what you are doing I am not sure really. But depending on the project you are doing I could see a 1gig card running low on VRam. I would say spend the extra $40 to be safe. It would be cheaper in the long run if you find that 1gig was not enough.

So than according to the "myth" article. If the programs I use are AA heavy like rhino, revit, 3dmax, or cad rendering then it makes more sense for me to get 2gb, right?
