Gateway DX Series Desktop Stops on Gateway Splash Screen

My brand new DX4885 stops at the Gateway splash screen every time it re-boots.. When it is hung up, I hold the power button down until it shuts down and then press the power button again to boot it and it boots just fine. But if I re-boot it does it again.

Run this from CMD ;prompt

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

If still misbehaving try Clean Boot, it starts Windows with bare essentials. If re-boot works, then try adding items until it fails, to trace the culprit.

First try System File Checker
Winkey plus 'X'
Choose Command Prompt (Admin)
Type sfc /scannow then Enter

It finds and fixes errors in Windows, but doesn't always report them. Run it and see if the fault disappears after re-booting your system

Did not help.

FYI: It is running Windows 8.1 and just one other program. Plex Media Server. I ran Plex on a previous 8.1 machine with no issues so I doubt it is that.

That sounds like a good candidate for a fix. I will try tonight. I just want to make sure it is not hardware before to much time passes.
