Can I run a Physx card even if my motherboard doesn't support SLI?

I have a B85-G41 PC Mate motherboard which supports Crossfire but not SLI, I know Physx cards don't use SLI but will my motherboard handle 2 Nvidia cards? one a GTX 770 and the other a Physx card say a GTX 650 or GTX 650 ti? Or if those aren't good Physx cards then what are?

PC specs

  • ■CPU: Intel i5 4570 @3.2Ghz
    ■Mobo: MSI B85-G41 PC Mate
    ■GPU: GTX 770
    ■OS: Windows 8
    ■PSU: OCZ ModXStream Pro 700W
    ■Case: Xigmatek ASGARD 381 Black/White

Yes your board will allow the second card for physx however there is not much point using a second card with the 770 as its powerful enough to handle both rendering and physx at the same time. If you do want to go down that road then a 650/650ti is a bit overkill for just physx but they will do the job without holding back your 770 (I used in a test a 9800gt for physx with a GTX 680 and with the 9800 dedicated to physx it decreased my performance, so on some cards you will be worse off).
