Can I use the stock SP fans that come with the h100i and an extra TWO SP120's for a push pull config? Thanks!

More about : push pull h100i fan types

Yes, but make sure the SP120 (Corsair right?) are push not pull they're not too good for pulling.
On a 2nd note AF120 are great for pull.

Dear,

When it comes to Corsair fans for radiator mounting. Don't buy SP120 Quiet Edition but buy SP120 Performance Edition and these fans will give you best push and pull configuration. Don't go for AF series as they are not for radiator mounting but for case air flow.

The AF does better for pull then the SP does for pull.

I DO HAVE the SP120 Highperformance ones...I bought 2 OF THEM. So I WANT TO KNOW IF i can use those two as a push in the bottom and the stock h100i sp fans as pullon the top but I dont know which way the fan is push and which way is pull...?

or should I just use the SP120 highs for push and not do push pull as the h100i sock fans are loud?

Mount two SP120 HP on pull and two stock SP120 L on pull.

Ok, now I just need to know how PUSH looks on a fan and how PULL looks....Since the red things on the sp120s will point DOWN meaning its push? And the sp120 L fans will have the ugly back part facing TOWARDS or away from the rad?

EDIT: YOU SAID both on PULL? Or do you mean SP120 HP ON PUSH?

The side with the bars is where air is going and the side without is where it is coming from.

SP120 High Performance on pull. It means they would mount on the bottom of the rad and stock SP120 on the top of the rad. Usually the sticker side show the Pull config.

I understand all of this. SP120 HP's at the bottom of the rad LIKE THIS http://cdn.overclock.net/6/61/350x700px-LL-61af8fe1_Pic...

and the sp120 L on top of the rad but the UGLY BACK PART http://img.hexus.net/v2/cooling/Corsair/H100i/H100i-03b...

the fan on the right, the back of the 120 L will be facing TOWARDS or away the rad? Thats all I want to know

both of you guys are telling me diff things like SP120 HP as PUSH and as PULL...I thought the HP's will be better for PUSH.

Yes that's right.
SP120 HP is better for push, it is not designed to pull air.

Ok there is still one thing NO ONE answered....I just want to know....the stock SP 120 L fans.....Yes, THEY ARE PULL, but, which way does the BACK UGLY PART face to? The rad? Or the top of the case....thats all ._. and will it cool better than sp120 HP on push alone?

The back faces away from the rad.
Yes it'll work better then just the SP120 HP on push.

Hey, dear,

Sorry for late reply as I was busy and had to attend two meetings. So Push, Pull or Push/Pull both.

You can go either way. But there is no as such benefit going with Push and Pull at a time. Check the below email. It'll give you the precise answer about this configuration:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UyC3lZ5WFMk

Check this vid for fan choice.

Hopefully, this will answer your query.

Thanks :)  I saw that video or the dust on the rad today.

I know how to mount it in push pull but the reason I KNOW mine wont get dusty is cause they will be pushing air out of the case and rad. And those SP120's in the video you send, I have 2 of them. I am going to get an AIR 540 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cNEi8SvMYwM see how he uses teo sp 120 hp's and two stock fans in Push Pull? Im going to be doing that. How does that sound?

The only thing left on my mind is where should I plug in the STOCK sp120's...In the PSU or motherboard because I heard they are loud when its in the CPU block....Plus, Having 4 fans on the block is too much so do you recommend using molex from the psu or just connecting them to the motherboard? Because I dont know where to plug in the 3 fans that come with the 540.....motherboard or molex or what?

Thanks easy lover! Your name explains it all. You are very kind :)  Also, you have a great Rig!

Thanks dear for reading my rig :)  Pl create molex of all 4 fans and use it with corsair link (connecting with the mobo) Don't connect with PSU else you can't control the speed of the fans.
Also I'm using 6 fans and system is quiet if not silent. Noise level should be at comfortable level.

My advice: Don't go for Push and Pull config. You'll be happy with Pull only :)

Easy Lover - Please explain what "PL" means and just a bit more clearly where and how I should plug them into the mobo, or are you saying dont put it in the mobo?

Is is this pull http://cdn.overclock.net/d/da/dab1059a_8296282818_42050... (the rad is OVER the mesh)

Because I want to be able to see my little blue rings (i will make them red) But yeah.

also, I just ordered the AIR 540. Plenty of room . So is push pull bad? If so, why? Again, is this pull http://cdn.overclock.net/9/9e/500x1000px-LL-9e044691_20... or is that push?

Pl: Please :)

Pl have a look at H100i overview again. It has Corsair Link capability to monitor and control the fans. So it is better to link all fans using molex or y head splitters. It would be like all fans header cables will be going into a molex and then single molex output will be going to linkup with corsair link connector.

Check the guide for further details:

http://www.corsair.com/us/blog/how-to-install-the-hydro...

If you want to see your beautiful RED RINGS that would mean the fans will be pushing air thru the radiator to the top of the case for exhaust. In this case the top mounted fans will be exactly in the same direction as the bottom fans.

Hopefully this will be helpful.

Yeah but as for "fans will be exactly in the same direction as the bottom fans." IS that a bad thing for good thing? And "fans will be pushing air thru the radiator to the top of the case for exhaust" Is that a bad thing or are both good? remember, I only will have 2 red rings so i dont care about the sp120 L's. And you say I should PLUG ALL FANS into the h100i block using that connector? I heard the stock fans are loud when their in there!

On a side note, what looks better? Having the H100i tubes coming from the left or from the right?

again, I already know how to mount the h100i and everything. Just talking about where is a good place for the SP120 Stock fans because the red rings fans will be connected to the pump but the sp120 L's..not sure.

Ok. In this context you can connect SP120 L (Stock fans) on either PSU 4 pin power cable or via y header splitter on any available fan header connector on your mobo.

Both configs are valid. No isse. Your Case has good air flow so any config can work.

Suit yourself. If Stock fans produce more noise. simply remove them. It won't really affect your temps though.

EasyLover - Ok :)  If its loud I'll just try to connect the stock ones to the mobo and then maybe to the PSU and if its still loud, Ill remove them.

Thanks for the help. Sorry for bothering you :(

dashboy1998- I gave you solution in the other thread I made earlier so now I give it to easy lover. That way you both get solutions! :)

On an h100i there are 4 sets of fan power connectors on the top of the waterblock/pump that's what you should be using. They actually had push/pull in mind when they designed so they were nice enough to include that feature. As far as which one will do better anyone saying that there is going to be a real difference is just wrong. I did the exact same thing you are doing when I had a h100i. I experimented both ways and there was maybe 1 degree of difference.

If you're testing you have to be sure to let the system run so that the coolant gets to normal operating temperatures before you can really have a completely unbiased result, also you need to know ambient temperature because you're never going to cool below ambient temperature.

The other thing to consider is that the radiator you have is a thin low fin density type. That means static pressure is not going to really matter so much. If you want to have fun with it I won't tell you not to, but I will say you're trading a degree of temperature for several decibels more noise.

Davil - The only reason I want to do Push Pull is to fill the top of the case cause the 540 has lots of room that I dont want to be empty. I MIGHT do push pull.

EasyLover - So in that image I will be using the one in the left I assume.

So you two both say I should NOT do push pull..hmm....

If I decide to do only one, linus says Pull but that looks ugly and I will make the red rings show and that is push I think....? Not sure.

Dear follow the left option. Two fans in bottom and two fans on the top. Btw bottom fans will have ring side facing downward (Isn't this what you have wanted). These two fans will be pushing air thru the rad and top fans will be pulling the air from the rad.

So final conclusion : You say I shouldnt do push pull, but I kinda wanna but if its loud, its not worth it and just remove the top fans I guess but it wont hurt to try right?
