To Increase the Router Limit.

Well I am using inetrnet connection and the provider has given a router with it, but the problem is that the router has limited connections available. Only 8 devices can be connected to it at once. Is there any way i can increase this limit..??

Almost all routers have a limit in the number of connections, and some of them allow to modify that limit usually by the managment web page of the router.

But 8?, is strange as almost all router have a lot more connections than 8.

Check the routers DHCP settings, may just need to extended this to allow more devices to get IP address.

Routers can handle a fair few light usage users.

Yeah, DHCP settings. Most give you either a lower and upper bound for DHCP, or a lower bound and number of users.

Are we talking only wireless, or wireless plus cabled? Some WiFi chipsets can't handle many users.
