Hi all,
Just wondering if the following is possible, I have a AMD HD 5870, and I was hoping to use Eyefinity, but I'm not sure if it will work as I want it to.

I want to have 3 monitors set up side by side, but I only want to play games on one of them (due to all of them being different sizes).

An example scenario would be the following.

Left desktop - running a web browser

Middle desktop - running world of warcraft in fullscreen window mode (borderless window mode)

Right desktop - steam chat, various system readings (speedfan), utility etc.

Is this possible? Or will Eyefinity force me into using multiple monitors in games?

The reason I ask is I just tested it out on two monitors, and it was forcing black ops 2 to run over the two screens.

Cheers,
Arokas

Just enable all 3 monitors in your catalyst and play around with the extend desktop settings.

You can also just try to plug in all 3 monitors and enable them and press WINDOWS key + P to select different modes in windows. You need one Display Port monitor though.

Thanks for the reply gaborbarla. The problem I'm having is it won't run the 3 monitors, perhaps it is the way I have it set up. It is as follows.

DVI -> DVI Monitor
DVI -> DVI Monitor
HDMI -> HDMI Monitor

It runs 2 monitors no problem, but refuses to let me run the 3rd.

Any suggestions?

UPDATE: When I try to add the 3rd monitor, it tells me I have to turn one off first.

Ah, excellent.

Would something like either of these work?

Those guys are a local store, so I can pick it up tomorrow. I live in Western Australia, so waiting for delivery from non-local stores can take ages.

Thanks for your help gaborbarla!
