770 vs r9 280x

Gtx 770. Have you seen the prices on the r9 280x's? I'm Canadian, and the 280x goes for 500-600 bucks on newegg.....Even the 290 and 290x? The sapphire reference cooler goes for 1K! The same price as the gtx 690 and titan! Not worth going with AMD with these prices drop down until the bitcoin mining dies away. (Which it will be a while)

Still, the 770 wins by a small amount. Depends on each game, like bf4 will love the 280x, but is the price worth for a few more FPS?

You can't just say that. From GPUboss, the gtx 770 wins. But it doesn't mean it's "better" really.

It depends on some games. Some games will favor the 280x, and some will favor the 770. But you also have to take some features into account when you're comparing the cards. Like for one, Nvidia is bring out G-sync. While AMD is bring out mantle, which only a few games will have for now.

The 280x and 770 themselves are comparable in some factors..

you are right but we are not comparing reference card we are comparing the manufactures cards the sapphire is the best for amd cards and the toxic is the best of sapphire and even if you overclock it you are not void of warranty plus do you know a manufacture gtx 770 card that can beat the sapphire toxic 280x

Thanks all for answering but I live in the UK and both gpus are under £250 so price doesn't mater.
I play bf but I need bf4 so if I get Amd it will be free and I play in 1080 and I will be playing with multi monitors in the future
