I used to be a console player, and I have been using controllers for over 5 years, recently I made the move to pc and I have been playing so poorly on fps games with a mouse and kb, my aim is terrible. Any tips on how to get better?

Yeah if you have been playing console for a very long time it is pretty hard to learn the keys and not having to look down to see which key to press. When i first started PC gaming my very first real PC game was Minecraft but this was when Minecraft was in early alpha. The game really helped me to learn the keys and learn the basics of first person games now i can easily type fast, aim fast, and i dont have to look at the keys anymore while i play. (World of Warcraft)

The best way to get better fast is to go offline and practice for a bit untill your feel of the game is fluid.
Also, check your mice sensitivity to make sure you have it to your liking.
mice/keyboard operates differently, and usually there is no aim helper, so It takes a little to get used to it.

Yeah. One big problem you will have if you drop right into multiplayer is the frustration of wanting to do one thing, and doing another. This will vanish really fast after you play some offline (even easy games) that is more enjoyable to play for several hours, because you will not really notice that you are practicing, but playing.

Note that there are a few advices to follow on using a keyaord/mice setup that are always good to follow, like having your elbows rest on the same desk where your M/K is, etc.

I was in the same boat about 2 months ago and for the first couple of weeks I felt like a complete clutz and thought I would never get it.

It comes, just give it time and you will like it more. When I try to play FPS on console now I feel like a clutz.

One thing that helped me out a lot was getting a mouse that fit my hand well. I got the Logitech g50s.

Same here man. I was a console gamer for about 12 years and last year I built a PC and was terrible at all FPS games. I had to look down every time I wanted to take my fingers off w,s,a,d and I would end up getting killed. A year later I can now say that I love mouse and keyboard and I'm way more accurate than I was with a controller. Just takes a week or 2 to start to get better and after a month or 2 you will be a pro.
