The sub is connected to the orange port in the motherboard, correct?

What settings do you have in your Realtek control panel? A screenshot of it would be best, if you could.

ok i got it to work , i had to " right click" on the "volume" then select "play back devices" then go down to the speakers and " right click " then selected "configure speakers" and i put it on "5.1 or 7.1" instead of "stereo" and when i clicked next , it then started sending the signal. :-D

I don't know why it didn't do this in the Realtek HD auto interface software ? You would think it would?

thank you for trying to help ihog

hope this will help any one that came to this through a Google search

Where you changed it is just less user-friendly, but you should be able to do the same in the Realtek control panel.

And yeah, if you're only on stereo, you're only outputting sound to the two front speakers.

is there away to , have my sound come out the motherboard sound board , and have the same sound come out a sound card or have it come out the head phone jack?

or does windows have it set up that , you can only have one playback devices ?
