How many case fans can I have on the asus maximus vi formula I want to attach 5 Corsair CO-9050004-WW Air Series AF120 Performance Edition 120mm fans to my pc and 2 Corsair CO-9050009-WW Air Series AF140 Performance Edition 140mm fans How many can I have?

Your motherboard doesn't really limit how many fans you can use. It may have a fixed number of fan headers, but there are adapters to allow more than one fan to connect to a single header (though you might need to check how much power the fans need vs. how much power the header can provide), adapters to power a fan from a psu molex connector (though these usually force the fans to full speed rather than allowing pwm or voltage controls), and fan controllers that usually go into 5.25-inch drive bays that support different quantities of fans.

The question is 'how many do you want?'

The more you have, the more fan noise you have. Go with the minimum necessary to keep your parts cool. Start with the basic intake in the front and exhaust out the back. Are temperatures for your components where you'd like them to be and within spec? If not, add as necessary.

I want 7 fans and sound is not a problem as I have had my Cosmos II (My Case) sound proofed with foam I want my components as cool as possible so I was wondering what was the maximum the asus maximus vi formula could handle thanks.
