Should AMD Mantle affect my next graphics card choice

So far it seems that it does increase the frame rate a fair bit, but should it affect my next gen graphics card choice

I don't think so. That's like saying 'Should G-sync dictate my next GPU choice?'

Once you start doing this, you no longer have a choice since you rule out a chip manufacturer altogether.

On the other hand, if one manufacturer has something that is clearly changing the industry, you could pigeon hole yourself for a while. At this point, mantle has to really catch on with game developers before I'd bet on AMD.
