When I put the graphics card inside and then turn the pc on, nothing comes on the screen neither do I get any power on usb devices, although I hear the computer running.
I have a 400watt psu.
When i remove the card everything works again.
I have tried to disable internal graphics from bios and I have tried to install the supplied drivers, but nothing seems to work with this graphics card.
Acer x3810 that I have has 7 gb of ram and windows 8 and 7 dualboot.
The acer has a service manual that I found online, giving more detail about the system.

I also know that this PCs internal hardware is the same as gateway sx2800.

I would be happy if someone could come up with a way to make this graphicscard work.

Thanks in advance.

I think you are exceeding your PSU's limit. Your GPU will run on a 400w PSU but you need to take into account that your other components (CPU, RAM etc) take power aswell. You may need a new PSU

I dont think so, because the computer used to run with the same components (except for the graphics card I try to make work) on 220W psu.
cpu consumes only about 60W and the ram consumes a bit less.
I dont think the power of 400w psu is a problem. The AMD site says 400 is a requirement for psu an the card is low profile. Is it possible that there is something else that may prevent the computer from using the card.

You could try removing the CMOS battery form the motherboard for 30 seconds with power removed then boot the pc WITH the new GPU in
