red led no post beeps

I have recently been building a pc and everything was going well until i tested it and there was a red led. I've tried everything from removing the cooler to updating bios- Could something be wrong with the Processor (intel-corei7-3820) or the motherboard (asus sabertooth x79) HELP IS REQUIRED!!!!

The best thing to do in this situation is to check every component of your computer and make sure that its correctly connected. That's usually the problem.

Describe to me specifically what happens when you press the power button (does the PC sound like it's on? Do the fans start spinning? ETC.)
