So I have ordered all the parts for my PC. My school lets me download Windows 7 for free, but I'm don't know exactly how to go about doing that. I'm thinking I could use my current computer to install Windows on the hard drive, then some how use that with the build. Thanks for the help! Let me know if you need more details.

You are trying to download Windows 7 freely on your home PC? You'll have to install the Windows on the system on which it is supposed to be used. If this is other way around that is you can download Windows on your school's system and install it there on HDD and then use this HDD on your home PC then it is no recommended.

You have to install windows with the hard drive connected to the motherboard of the computer you are going to use. You cannot transplant the hard drive.

If the hard drive is blank, just put the disc in the drive and it will boot, follow the instructions it is very easy.

Hmm... Well, the problem is, it's a download, not a disc. I just don't know how to transfer it over. Do I need to get a disc? Is there any other way?

Using your favorite burning application, you burn a bootable DVD.

You can download the official Win7 ISO from here:

Burn to disk
Install

Would this be ok? Then I just enter the product key?

If you have the ISO, and the valid product key, yes. You can create either a DVD install or USB stick install.
