So recently I bought a Zotac GTX 760 but it was damaged on delivery. I've waited for a few weeks to save up some money for a better card and I wondered which card I should buy, Radeon R9 280x or GTX 760 Super Clocked with ACX cooling. It doesn't matter about the price (760 is on sale) I mainly want performance etc..

My specs: 8GB of ram, AMD 6 core, Asus M5A97 mobo and EVGA 600w psu.

links for both the cards:

R9 280X is a bit faster than the 760. Also if you play Battlefield 4 or mine any cryptocurrency the AMD will be superior. An R9 280X costs $500 in the US because of cryptocurrency mining.

The Gigabyte R9 280X Windforce http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00FSC5BNG is significantly faster than a GTX 760.

The GTX 760 is more comparable to the R9 270X where the R9 280X is more comparable to the GTX 770.

No. Even if it would, I bet your CPU is unlocked so you could always bump it a few 100 MHz if you ran into any bottleneck.

This, I'd rather go for the 760 if you do not mine a cryptocurrency such as Bitcoin, Litecoin, or even minor ones like Dogecoin.
