I was restoring factory default windows 8 while hdd erasing procedure starts and going on just after 3 min, laptops power off because of battery dead (my mistake that i forget to plugin power cord). After that I restart my computer and it says checking media [fail] then no bootable device -- please restart system.
Laptop comes with recovery partition but how can i do that from here now on where laptops fail on starts after toshiba logo.

please tell me there is possibility to recover my original window 8. help me guys on this.

There probably is not a way to boot into the recovery partition then. You could contact Toshiba to order a recovery disc, unless of course a recovery disc came with your laptop. When you get a recovery CD go into the BIOS and boot to the DVD drive. Next, follow the prompts to reinstall Windows 8.

You could try booting to the recovery partition. On boot (as soon as you press the power button) repeatedly press one of these buttons: F1, F2, F10, F12, ESC or DEL. One of them will get you into the BIOS, from there you can select the recovery partition. Sorry I can't tell you which button to press, but I cant remember the right one off the top of my head!

Okay. So I've got the same problem but my boot options come up as
HDD/SDD
ODD
LAN
Am going to be able to do this without a disk or am I going to have to get one of those?
