Hello everyone I'm having a really tough time with my system. Firstly id like to say that my first motherboard fried after I tried to SLI two 660's. After my RMA was declined I picked up a new asrock z77 and found out that my 660's were also fried. So now I've gotten a new 7970 and after installing it I am getting no display.

I can't tell if it's a bad gpu or motherboard. If I unplug the power cables from the 7970 and connect to the onboard display I'm able to make it into bios but in my explorer it says my pcie slots are empty. Shouldn't they still show up even if there's no power connected to the card?

With my pcie set to gen1 I can hear windows start up but there's no display.

I can't for the life of me figure out if it's the psu, the gpu, or the motherboard and I've already shelled out enough cash as it is.

Please help

Also I'd like to mention I've been using the same ocz 600w power supply. But with onboard graphics my entire system is working fine? Is it possible that the pcie connections are the only thing faulty about the unit?

Just picked up a new power supply. Getting d6 and b2 when I boot up. Still no display from the 7970. Getting real pissed off as I've replaced basically every major component in my computer. It's not the CPU because I can run onboard display just fine

Hello, I had same issue with another z77 motherboard (p8z77-m) and solved updating bios to last version and put GPU to run as gen1. Its a know issue in z77 chipsets.
