I don't want to disassemble my rig (I built it, but I feel a stroke of luck helped me get there without any hiccups), but my cpu can get pretty hot even when it's not under heavy load. So could anyone name a few (If there are any) after market coolers that don't require access to the backplate?

(I am using an AMD FX6300, the mobo is an ASUS a97 or something)

Yes. There are several that mount using the existing AMD retention bracket just like the stock cooler. The Cooler Master TX series uses the retention bracket, for instance.

But if your CPU w/stock cooler is not keeping the CPU cool at idle even, you may have to replace the thermal paste. Or there may be a mounting issue causing it.

Ah, thank you! It runs fine at idle (somewhere around the 30-35 mark), it's just after an hour of gaming it gets to 60, which I read was too hot. Not sure if it is or the information is wrong. Anyway, thanks for a fast and precise reply!
