Bypass 4gb ram limit?

So I recently upgraded to a dual core on my compaq presario cq60 211dx and now i want to upgrade the ram, but the limit is 4gb and i want to go to 8gb. I do not want to buy a new laptop so please dont suggest that. I am doing this so I can play games like minecraft on the go, the processor is a Intel Core 2 Duo 2.00ghz T6400.

If the motherboard only supports 4GB, then that is what you get.

Also 2x4GB DDR2 SODims are pretty expensive now, like almost worth more than the laptop they would go into. An SSD would help with system responsiveness but I don't know if it would help with minecraft.

Are we talking about the windows 32 bit ram limit or a hardware limit on the laptop?

I know of no way around a hardware limit. Window limit just upgrade to 64 bit.

From everything I have read, you can put 2x4gb of ram for a total of 8GB.
